Janice Mertes is an innovative and collaborative digital leader to support organizations, leaders, integrated solutions, and innovative design of learning. Janice has served over 20 years in a large suburban school district, 10 years at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and several years supporting national ed tech organizations. Janice served several years on the SETDA Board and was the organization's treasure for many year. Janice is a National Board Certified educator, Microsoft Innovative Teacher recipient, Herb Kohl Fellow, and NEA Innovative Educator. Janice has completed master degrees in history, technology curricular leadership, and technology administration. In addition, Janice has completed coursework for her PHD from the University of Wisconsin Madison Education Leadership Policy Analysis school of education with a research focus on innovative digital leadership and micro credentialing. She believes in the intersection of policy, practice, funding, research, staffing/human capacity, and partnerships to support strategic technology planning so future ready students can do great things.  Janice currently serves as the Education State Level Ambassador at CDW, a Fortune 500 IT Solutions Company, to be a resource for state digital learning leaders, research partners, and federal policy organizations.
